I’m happy to share that this photograph was selected for inclusion in the photography book Familiar Strangers, a collection of portraits taken by photographers from around the world. Familiar Strangers was published by Tokyo-based ephemere. – a gallery and photo book publisher founded by photographer Anne Murayama, who also curated the included portraits.
I took this photo in London two years ago. The subject is a fixture on Camden High Street.
A few of my photographs of Coney Island were featured in another book published by ephemere, Half the Sky – Street Photography from Women, featuring the work women street photographers from around the world. Published last year, Half the Sky is currently sold out.
If you’re ever in Tokyo, make sure to check out ephemere, its collection of photography books and zines, and any exhibition that might be on. I hope to make it back to Tokyo in the not too distant future.
